No Makeup “Makeup” | Natural Radiance | She Glows

The one makeup look that will never go out of style is the…

dum da da dum

Au Naturel look.

Not a surprise I’m sure, but seriously there is nothing more envy worthy than someone who is confident in their own skin. Although I would love to truly rock this look and feel great, I admit it…I cheat and mimic a bare face with a few essential products. (See list below).

Now ideally, who wouldn’t love to roll out of bed and head out of the house with a flawless complexion, bright eyes, and defined cheek bones without applying an ounce of makeup.  But let’s be real that is just not the case most days (or any day for that matter).  Lately I’ve found myself gravitating toward more neutral complementary products to be applied sparingly.  So if your mornings or anything like mine, forget the cream contour and ditch the winged liner. Simply take an extra 5 to 10 minutes then get on your way looking great in your own skin (well almost…).

Below are a list of products that I like to use to achieve my Au Naturel flawless finish:

The Romantic

A fresh, soft, natural makeup look

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner I wanted to share a soft romantic makeup look that enhances natural features.  The look utilizes subtle color to define the eyes and cheeks.  The key to this look is to find a concealer that is just one to two shades lighter than your normal foundation to apply under the eyes and below the cheeks.  See my full list of products below.  (PS. These are all staples in my cosmetic bag…no one hit wonders here!)

Fall Makeup | Dark Lips | Beauty Tips

Seasonal Fall Makeup | Dark Lip
Seasonal Makeup for Fall 2015 | Dark Brown Lip | MichKalon

The above look has been my “Go To” look for the Fall Season. Nothing says Fall to me more than Pumpkin Spice Lattes and a Dark Matte Lip. To complete any Fall look opt for a dark brown lip matte lip color, subtle contour, and a warm brown smokey eye.

Beauty Tip: Dap your finger in a creamy gold eyeshadow and dab it onto the center of your bottom lip.  This creates a touch of dimension and shine for extra lushious lips!

Travel Adventures~White Sands New Mexico

I recently found myself in one of the most extraordinary places.  Standing in the silence, while watching an oncoming hail storm I witnessed magnificent skies and uncanny beauty.  A sense of calmness rushed through my body.  All due to the effortless beauty the White Sands National Park offers to its visitors. If you ever find yourself in West Texas or New Mexico, I would make the time to experience the white sand dunes. It most certainty was worth my while. #NoDisappointments

Guiltless Donuts ~ Vegan Baking Adventures

Truly Delicatable Guilt Free Donuts…Recipe by Chocolate Covered Katie.

Guiltfree Donuts…Let’s go!

I am a true believer in treating your body well.  With that said I absolutely love sweets! I mean if it has chocolate in it, you better believe that I am going to try it. In my attempts to maintain balance between my sweet tooth and healthy lifestyle I often opt for healthy desserts.  That is where one of my favorite blogs comes into play Chocolate Covered Katie Blog. She has an amazing blog of all healthy desserts, perfect for the vegan baker!  Not only is her blog full with awesome recipes, she recently has come out with a cookbook that I cannot help but rave about.  If your interested in trying the delicious donut recipes below, I would definitely recommend checking out the CCK Cookbook. It has over 80 recipes of healthy desserts that are rich in flavor and will have your guests saying, “That dessert was made with WHAT?” ( A common occurance when you tell your friends and family that the delicious pie they just consumed is filled with tofu and unprocessed sugars…)!   If you’re still interested read about my experience with her two donut recipes below.

Chocoholic Glazed Doughnuts & Frosted Lemon Doughnuts

As fall is quickly approaching, I thought it was the perfect time to try out these donut recipes.

Vegan Dounts
Homemade Lemon & Chocolate Vegan Dounts

The Chocolate Glazed Doughnuts contain almond milk, coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, vanilla extract, spelt flour, xylitol, stevia extract, cacao powder, baking soda, salt, and melted chocolate chips. The Frosted Lemon Doughnuts had the same ingredients except the apple cider vinegar, cacao powder and melted chocolate chips are exchanged for grated lemon zest, lemon juice and arrowroot. Each recipe makes a 1/2 dozen donuts each.

Clearly from the picture, I tried each kind before getting them onto the plate. Both were quite good and definitely tasted like real donuts with a dense cake like texture. The ones on the left are obviously the chocoholic glazed doughnuts;  and as a self proclaimed chocoholic I thought I would like these best, but mine came out a bit dry in comparison to the frosted lemon doughnuts.  The lemon donughts were out of this world good!  They were extremely fresh tasting.  Credit is largely due to the lemon zest and lemon juice incorporated in both the donuts and the frosting. If I had to choose just one I would go for the Frosted Lemon Doughnuts again.  If anyone has any other good healthy dessert recipes or blogs to follow, please comment below!

Hello World

The beginnings of a lifestyle blog of beauty, fitness, and food. Stay Tuned!

Allow me to introduce myself…

I am a 20 something, fiercely independent girl striving to live a beautifully unconventional life.  From when I was little I always knew that I wanted to be unique. Being so-called “normal” did not and does not appeal to me in the least. I always wanted to have my own style, hobbies, dreams, and ambitions. Though I’ll admit more often than not I’ve succumbed to societal pressures and tried to be what I’d envisioned a “perfect” person to be. Now I’ve decided to begin this blog to allow myself the freedom to express what it means to be uniquely me.

I want this blog to be a forum to embark on a journey to share my passions with others. Whether I will be sharing with those of similar passions or with others who are looking to embrace new experiences, I’m extremely excited to begin this journey.

I hope through this blog to inspire others to try new things, take risks, and be adventurous; all for the sake of being true to oneself. Here I invite others to join me in their own journey to find the beauty in their own life.  I want to open this site up to enable others to tell me about their passions and experiences that are unique to them.

Below is a compilation of my current interests and thoughts. Think of this as a sneak peak of what you can expect to see in my future posts.

SNEAK PEAK:

Life Mantra:

Inspiring others toward happiness brings you happiness.

Fitness Passions:

Yoga, Pilates, Pole Fitness, Running, HIIT, Barre, Spin, (Anything that incorporates the mind/body connection)

Beauty Therapy:

Make Up looks, Skin Care Products, Celebrity Tutorials (All that embodies a sophisticated glam style)

Heart of a Foodie:

Paleo, Vegan, Raw, Whole Food Eating, Mouth Watering Recipes (I dabble in all things related to good food)

The list above encompasses all that intrigues me today.  I will warn you that I have a wild imagination and an ever growing list of passions and goals.

So I encourage you to stay tuned…xoxo Mich
